I recieved my kontact saddle at 11:00 a.m. this morning. I then installed it, adjusted it, and climbed aboard. went 10 miles on my Kinetic trainer riding my Jamis xeinith endura 2. wow!!! I cannot believe the differance it made in my comfort level. No numness for the boys. That was the main reason I wanted to try this saddle. Like I Said I only went 10 stationary miles but I can tell 50 miles will be no problem on the road. Thanks for engineering such a great product.

“Although I am relatively new to riding – having taken up Triathlons ~ 2 years ago – it didn’t take me long to figure out that my saddle was critical to me staying in the game. Of course, I stuck with the saddle my bike came with when I first bought the bike (supposedly a “high end saddle), assuming my “saddle soreness” was due to my inexperience. I had the seat re-fitted at the shop where I bought the bike, made sure my riding mechanics were correct, and still I was never comfortable on the seat beyond 5 or 10 miles. (My average rides in training for Olympic distance triathlon are 20-40 miles).
I am also a medical doctor, practicing Urology for the last 15 years. I have had many discussions with my “cycling” patients over the years, about the potential problems of ED associated with riding. And while there remains some controversy over the severity of ED that may develop in long distance riders, Joshua Cohen’s video on anatomy and how arteries and nerves may be impacted while riding, is very accurate.
I switched to the Kontact Seat about two months ago after one of my patients – an experienced rider – had suggested it (he had gone through many saddles in his time, and said he was very impressed with this design). It took me a couple of rides to get adjusted to the seat, and to get the seat adjusted properly to where I was using it correctly. But since then, it has been like night and day. Previously, I could never find the “sweet spot” when riding, and now I find it every ride. The seat meets the “sit bone” area perfectly when riding in my standard position, and works even better in the “Tri position.” It puts all the pressure where you want it, and no pressure to the perineal area (where all of the arteries and nerves run).
I am definitely sold on this seat, and would highly recommend it both for comfort as well as for the anatomic benefit.”

After trying several saddles and having no success I thought why not give the Kontact saddle ago. On my initial shorter test rides – 30 – 35 km’s I noticed a difference in comfort but still wasn’t 100% sure. Re-adjusted the saddle position, and tried a 50 km ride, much better but still not quite there. Performed another minor adjustment, I mean minor and rode another 50 km’s – no discomfort what so ever. So I went out the next day and rode a 100 km’s, no discomfort , in fact a day later and I have no reminders that I was on a bike for four hours, save my legs… Now going forth saddle soreness will not be a focal point, I am glad I made a leap of faith, no issues recommending this product.

I have been using the Kontact saddle for a year and it is very comfortable and places all your weight on you ischial tuberosities (sit bones). I tried the Kontact saddle due to its thin nose since thick nose saddles seem to cause rubbing of a nerve in my right inner thigh which results in a retractile testicle issue for me. The thin nose combined with rotating the saddle slightly off center has worked perfectly and I no longer experience this problem. I recommend this saddle to all my friends who complain of numbness while riding.

I’m getting back into triathlons after a 32 year layoff. I was a pretty motivated recreational rider before, but spent all my energy worrying about my bike, not my saddle.
Now I’m older and need to pay attention to the details a little more. I tried 6 different saddles. First, the Specialized that was on my bike already, 3 different ISM saddles, and Cobb and a Selle SMP. I really wanted the ISM saddles to work. Everyone seemed to love them, except me that is. The other monkey in the game is that I’m riding an old classic Softride beam bike. That makes adjustment a little more difficult.
Like several others, it’s taken several tweaks, but I’m enjoying this saddle much more than any of the others I tried. It does seem to be very dependent on seat angle, of course that could be because of my bike. I’m not totally out of the woods yet, but I can see the edge from here.
Two other things are that, at least in my opinion, the price is great compared with many of the other saddles and the customer service is absolutely first rate. They offer a 30 “ride and return” and when I need a couple of more days, Andrew was glad to help. Plus it’s a dang nice looking bike seat!
I highly recommend this saddle.
